Himeji Castle (41,468 square meters)

Himeji Castle is generally considered to be Japan's most beautiful palace and it is one of the few palaces that escaped from civil war, earthquake and world wars. Although officially called a fort, Mehrangarh fort can easily be considered as the Indian palace. It is located at a height of 122 meters (400 feet), it has 36 meters high and 21 meters wide walls and is entered after crossing seven gates. The fort was initially built in 1459 after Jodhpur founder Rao Jodha transferred from Mandore to his capital.
